CMFG / Accessories Designer
Sept 2021 - Aug 2023
As a CMFG (Color - Material - Finish - Graphics) and Accessories designer, I researched, designed, rendered, and developed multiple annual collections and partnerships (including both grips and phone cases) while working cross functionally and collaboratively to prioritize project ownership and efficiency.
These collections span multiple tiers from standard to premium grips, using a wide range of materials including plant-based resins and glitters, plastics, metals, enamels, silicone, oils, beading, and more.
Part of my role as a CMF designer included material innovation such as prototyping with low durometer silicones, plush filled fabrics, synthetic furs, alternative print treatments, reactive materials, and more.
Just a minute microscopic tiny little smidgen of the work I've done at Popsockets.
CMF Collections
Devouring WGSN, Hypebeast, Instagram, Vogue, and more is second nature on our team.
We all have companies we obsessively follow for inspiration- Dusen Dusen, Outdoor Voices, Baggu, Stanley 1913, Psychic Outlaw, Chunks, Crocs, Lazy Oaf, Lisa Says Gaah, Ba\a, Marimekko, Topo Designs (just to name a few of my own).
We cover all bases to watch design trends- not just consumer electronics, but athleisure, fashion, accessories. We build out a series of trend decks and mood boards (see right). From here, we develop multiple annual collections encapsulating the next CMF and graphic iterations of phone grips.
We work alongside our merchandise team to strategically design for different buyers. We collect data regarding best selling materials, designs, colors. We take multiple consumers into account, designing for premium price points to our standard graphics and plant grips.
We create innovative, cohesive, and data driven collections that span our entire product family- from adhesive and MagSafe grips, to phone cases and mounts.

A series of grips I designed for our Serenity Now collection.
Holiday grips and cases are some of the highest performing grips amongst our consumers.
While developing seasonal grips for both winter and Halloween holiday products, I successfully designed multiple top 10 best selling holiday grips.
By expanding our holiday offerings, we have historically strengthened our DTC business, by building an identity around limited edition products that our consumers come to expect annually.

Modeling Projects
With my background in industrial design, I became the resident model maker on our CMF and licensing team. Stepping up to model and render complex CMF mock ups while creating master files for other designers honed my skills as a product visualizer.
